Terrible Analogy at a Convention
by ApostateDance ini'd love to know what you guys think of this.
brother jackson (from the governing body) had this "neat" analogy at the very end of the convention.
he said; "what if you were watching a football game on tv, and it was the trojans against the fighting irish, and it's been a good game.

There's also the matter of truth if it's important to you. For me truth is worth whatever you have to pay for it. I cannot go to someones door and lie to them its like selling a dangerous product and you know it.
The organization is so evil that they will hold your family hostage to keep you there. I can't support that even if it makes my life difficult.

I Think I Will Grow a Beard
by alg1052 ini am an irregular and soon to be inactive publisher because of my gradual losing faith in the organization.
i still attend most meetings because i still have faith in god and jesus.
exercising my new found freedom i think i will grow a beard as i continue to attend meetings.

It's soooo hot!
by talesin init's 27 degrees celsius today = about 35 in my flat, which is about 95 degf for the americans.. .
my friends in tx say it's been over 100 degf for about 2 months ... i don't have ac, but a fan on me .... .
how do you deal with the heat?.

We moved from a place that was very hot hundred+ very little rain all summer to a place that is 80's and rains sometimes it's great. but what's so funny is the people here call it a sizzler if it approaches 90 and they seem to think they need more rain. to us it's totally green with tall trees but they say its a moderate drought.
Maybe when we get used to it here we'll forget what it was like in tx and think its hot and dry here but for now we love it.

Dear shabby Abby,
MY house is so boring. Whenever I walk in the front door I am immediately struck by the lack of color coordination burgundy, yellow, orange blue what should I do? My friend Martha thinks all I need are fancy placemats but something tells me that wouldn't be enough. My head is spinning what do i need. My neighbor collects hummels she has a whole wall devoted to them but to tell you the truth they look silly. I hate figurines. Let me know if you have any suggestions I'm all ears.
Your fan

New here - hello!
by sickandtired ini can't believe i'm actually posting here.
i've been lurking for a while and i've been having doubts about this being the "truth" for years and sometimes feel really stuck and hopeless about my situation.
i'm married to an elder (who is 110% jw) and i was for the most part raised in the "truth".

We certainly welcome you here. This is a place of understanding and where you can get a reality check.
The organization makes it very difficult to think clearly and something to keep in mind is just because you love your husband and care about many at the hall doesn't make the information true. It becomes difficult because the org demands total mental obedience and exacts a stiff penalty on those who question.
Is that right behavior for an org who claims to be the loving answer?
